While painting the portrait of Harriet Tubman, an amazing, brave, brilliant, courageously strong woman, the artist felt true admiration, gratitude, love, pain and pride. She captured the five-foot tall “Moses” of the Underground Railroad (who freed over 400 slaves) during the senior years of her life. The is the first portrait in the artist’s “Women Who Shattered Barriers” series.
